
Daisuke Kiyomiya

Daisuke Kiyomiya is a Japanese sculptor based in Brooklyn. He attended the Tokyo Technical College for Interior Design. He came to New York in 1998 where he studied life drawing, clay sculpture, stone, and wood carving at The Art Students League of New York. In 2007, he received a Certificate in Sculpture and Printmaking. Daisuke’s focus is using mainly natural materials such as clay, stone, and wood to create work ranging from small models to large-scale sculpture.
Daisuke is also trained as a stone carver for restoration of historical buildings. He has restored ornaments, gothic window frames, arches, and columns for the New York Public Library, St Patrick Cathedral, Brooklyn Bridge, Trinity Church Wall Street, Tiffany & Co, The Frick Collection, and the Green Wood Cemetery, to name a few.
In 2024, the artist was a selected artist in resident at Studio Barreto in Embudo, NM. He was included in the 2024 exhibition "Stone Sculpture in the Landscape" at Studio Santiago, Taos, NM.
