Originally purchased by a major collector named Gerald Nordland, from the Grace Borgenicht Gallery in New York, in 1970, the painting was also included in the artist’s retrospective at the San Francisco Museum of Art in 1969. Then purchased by Manny Silverman, of the Manny Silverman Gallery, Los Angeles.
