Wesley Rusnell

Biography
Wesley Rusnell was born in 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended San Francisco State University and had his first solo show at Lawrence Ferlinghetti's City Lights Books before moving to Taos, New Mexico in 1963. During the late 1960's Rusnell painted a series of colorful nudes for which he became well-known. He moved to Roswell, New Mexico to participate in the Roswell Artist-in-Residence program from 1973-1974 and went on to become the curator of the Roswell Museum and Art Center from 1976-2006. Rusnell now resides in Taos and is one of the last living Taos Moderns.
