Biography

Wolcott Ely was born Hutchinson, Kansas in 1923. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute, the University of Illinois, the Institute of Design in Chicago, Northwestern University & Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Ely moved to Taos, NM in 1954 and served as an instructor at the Taos Institute for Creative Orientation. He remained in Taos until his death in 2004.
