203 Fine Art specializes in early Modernists, Taos Moderns, pre-war and post-war American Modern art, and mid-century Abstract Expressionist art. We represent the estates of several significant artists, as well as private and public collections, and have accumulated the largest assemblage of works by the early Taos Moderns.
The Taos Moderns arrived in Taos between the 40s through the 60s, hailing from New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, with new approaches to interpreting the light and landscape. The Taos Moderns were mostly non-objective, abstract painters, who studied under masters such as Hans Hoffman, Clyfford Still, Mark Rothko and include notable artists such as Edward Corbett, Richard Diebenkorn, and Agnes Martin, among others.
